No sunshine today and that on Mother's day! Luckily this sorbet of tropical fruits such as mango and papaya makes your whole day sunny, just with it's cheerful colour. When you taste it you immediately understand why we make this sorbet for Mother's Day!
How to make Mango and Papaya Sorbet
This handy item is bought at Jumbo supermarket.
Peel en stone the mango's and cube them.
Do the same with the papaya's. Juice the lime.
Measure water and sugar and bring it to the boil.
Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved then remove the pan from the heat and allow the syrup to cool
Add the syrup to the fruits and blend it in small portions.
Rub the mixture through a sieve.
Pour the fruit mixture into the icemaker and let it churn for 30 minutes.
You make sorbet almost as easily without as with an ice maker, it only takes longer.
- Pour the fruit mixture into a freezer container instead of in the ice maker
- Hark after an hour of freezing with a fork through the ice and repeat it two more times, on the hour
- The following day your ice cream is ready!
In the picture you see the correct structure of sorbet.
There is no sunshine outside, but now it shines indoors!
Happy Mother's Day!
