What do you need?
coloured paper squeres
glue stick or liquid glue
scissors
glitter glue
felt tip, gold
optional: ribbon
How to make lanterns
Fold the square sheets in half, place the open side up.
Make cuts as shown in the picture.
Fold the sheet open and decorate top and bottom edge with gold.
Use fish or Chinese characters.Brush glue on the outer side.
Paste the edges on each other, in the longitudinal direction.
Cut a piece of paper or a ribbon and brush the ends with glue.
Press it firmly onto each top side and your lantern is ready.
How to make a string of mini-lanterns
Decorate the lanterns with glitter glue but first allow them to dry.
You can make a garland by stringing mini-lanterns on a line.
Fold more pink and red sheets in half.
Fold the double paper into quarters.
Fold them open and cut each sheet into 4 little sheets.
Fold the little squares in half again and cut stripes in it.
Exactly the same way you made the bigger ones.
Glue the edges of the mini-lanterns on each other.
Cut little strips to string them on the cord with.
Glue the strips on the inside of the mini-lanterns.
String them on a cord and hang it in the window, look how cute!
