Shopping list for 8 cupcakes
125g caster sugar
125g butter (room temperature)
2 free-range organic eggs (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
125g self-raising flour
2 tablespoons milk
white fondant icing
icing fondant in pastel colors
250 ml double cream
2 tablespoons sugar
Today we are baking cupcakes for Whitsun. We make them beautiful with fondant doves and flowers and extra delicious with whipped cream. The monsters can help a lot, they happily cut out fondant. Then they can decorate the cupcakes with pretty flowers and little doves.
Hor to make the Whitsun cupcakes
Mix butter and sugar until creamy.
Beat in the eggs one by one.
Fold in the vanilla.
Sift in the baking flour in 2 parts.
Fold the flour into the butter mixture.
Fold until you have a smooth batter.
At the end, fold the milk into the batter.
Preheat the oven to 170²C
Place the cases in the baking tin.
Fill them evenly with the batter.
Bake the cakes for 25 minutes.
Test whether the cupcakes are done.
Then place them on a wire rack.
Roll out the fondant thinly.
Cut out circles.
Stick the icing on the cakes.
With a drop water on the back of the icing.
Stick out flowers and doves of fondant.
Draw eyes on the doves, stick the yellow hearts on the flowers and let it dry
Meanwhile whip the cream with the sugar until stiff peaks appear
Spoon the whipped cream into a piping bag.
Put de bag in a glass and fold it over.
Pipe whipped cream rosettes on the cakes.
Do not pipe the rosettes too close to the edge!
There has to be room to stick in the flowers.
