What do you need?
a piece of orange fabric (e.g. velour or felt)
small piece of brown felt
stuffing
needles and matching thread
pencil
scissors
piece of green flower binding thread
Today we sew fun yet simple pumpkins from velour. They are so easy to make that the mini-monsters can do it (almost) by themselves. So clever! Young learned is old knowledge (an old Dutch proverb translated by me ;) ) and the kids find it super fun to do! FYI: you fasten on and off with three stitches on top of each other, then pass the thread through the work and cut it off. Now you know it all and can get started.
How to sew pumpkins
Trace a round shape.
Trace a larger cirle as well.
Cut out the circles.
Thread a thread around.
Pull the thread a little.
Stuff the pumpkin.
Pull the thread a little more.
Set the pumpkin aside for now and make the stalk
Cut a piece of brown felt.
Tie the thread on.
Roll up the piece of felt.
Sew it closed with tiny stitches.
Stick the stalk in the pumpkin and pull the orange thread tight
Pass the thread through the stalk and back, repeat 3 times and tie off.
Make the second, larger pumpkin in the same way.
Insert a piece of floral binding thread into the pumpkins that you wind around a pencil first, just not into the pumpkins the mini-monsters are playing with
The pumpkins are so quickly made, you can find them all over our house in all sizes! Happy autumn everyone!
