Yesterday we had a very busy day! We cleaned up the forest in our neighborhood with a large group of parents and children. Because come Monday it will be Earth Day again. Today we are going to do something fun with the monsters. We bake popcorn with chocolate sauce in earth colours and put it in funny self-decorated cups. Then we watch a movie and have a snack!
Here's how you do it
Pour a thin layer of oil in the pan, +/- 1 full tablespoon.
Turn on the heat in between low and medium.
Add a thin layer of corn kernels to the pan.
Place the lid on the pan and wait until you hear nothing.
This is a fun job for Mum or Dad!
Pretty soon you will hear popping sounds and the popcorn taps against the lid, Let the pan sit quietly until you hear no sound.
Then turn off the heat, remove the pan from the stove and set it aside for the time being, with the lid on.
Meanwhile you make the cups
We have paper cups and acryllic paint.
Paint the cups blue.
Let the paint dry well.
Meanwhile cut paper continents
Stick the cuttings on the dry cups.
Allow the glue to dry well.
Then stick two wobbly eyes on the cups.
While the glue dries completely Mum or Dad melts the chocolate au bain marie
Chop the chocolate, bring water to a boil.
Melt the chocolate and cream.
Stir in the food colouring.
Fill the cups with popcorn and pour chocolate sauce on top.
We wanted blue and green chocolate sauce but blue is green too!
The popcorn is ready, the film can begin!
