Baking your own bread is a party, so easy to do, fun and so tasty! Baked with flour from the mill the buns taste extra good. Then put some butter and a slice of cheese on it, an old familiar taste!
How to make the whole wheat buns
Weigh the two types of flour.
Put them in the food processor.
Add the butter to the flour.
Add salt, yeast and milk.
Mix until the dough takes shape.
Knead the dough quickly smooth by hand.
Roll the dough into a ball and put it aside.
Cover the bowl with cling film and let the dough rise 1h in room temperature until it's doubled in volume. In the mean time preheat the oven to 170°c.
The dough has doubled in volume.
Brush some oil on your work surface.
Push the air out of the dough.
Cut the flattened dough in 16 app. equal pieces.
Roll the dough into flat balls, cover them with cling film.
Let the buns rise a second time for 45-60 minutes.
Bake the buns in 12 to 15 minutes light brown.
Let the buns cool on a wire rack, if you tap a bun and it sounds hollow it's done.
Dust the buns with some flour.
