Our monsters learn to read at school with the new series from Christofoor: Verhalenrijk. Today they read to us (the out-loud readers) from Rode Pier en heks Hella, by Monique van der Zanden and Donna Kroese. This is part 5 in this series and it was specially requested by them so that the little monsters can also read this fun book at home. Of course we are happy thelp with that!
The story is fun and humoristic, sweetly illustrated and it is a reversal book. The front half of the book is the fun story, but if you turn the book over you can read in Hello Worm a lot of information and (the monsters' favorite) facts!
The series started last October, with learning the letters into easy words and so it builds up. The books are a great fit witht the Waldorf school. The stories are about nature and the kids read about various animals, but also gnomes and witches appear in the books. They are read with much pleasure and that is what matters most, after all!
