How to make Halloween Spider Cupcakes
Maybe you don't know these jars of edible glitter, it's superfun.
Fondant, icing and the glitter make the cobwebs sparkle.
Roll out some coloured fondant icing, we use blue.
Cut out a circle and stick it on the cupcake using a water drop.
Make a spiderweb by making a white icing cross on the circle.
Cover the icing cross with an X, from edge to edge.
Connect the points with slightly bended icing lines.
Repeat the connection on the inside web but smaller.
Brush edible glitter onto the cobwebs.
Roll small and slightly bigger balls from black marzipan.
Press head and body together with a drop of water.
Roll a long thin cylinder, which becomes the legs.
Cut the cylinder in four pieces.
Press the pieces together in the middle, roll the ends pointy.
Press the spider body's onto the legs.
Stick the spiders on the cobwebs.
Bend the legs to look like real spider legs.
Sort out the yellow sprinkles for the spider eyes.
Push the eyes on the heads of the spiders using the point of a knife.
Cut out ivy leafs in 3 sizes from black marzipan or fondant icing.
Stick the leafs overlapping with a drop of water on the edges of the cakes.
Stick the spider webs with some water on the ivy leafs on the cupcakes.
To bad we could not find black cupcake cases in Rotterdam!
Happy Halloween!
