2 - 3 organic oranges, juiced
1 tablespoon orange zest,finely grated
90g caster sugar
2 tablespoons corn flour
Everyone in the Netherlands today knows what Lemon Curd is, it is so loved by the British. Orange Curd is not very well known here but it is also very tasty, slightly sweeter but just as fresh. Delicous on your hot toast in the weekend! We are already making it because we choose it as one of our King's Day recipes.
How to make Orange Curd
Preparations
Scrub the orange very clean with hot water before you grate de skin
Grate the skin of an orange.
Squeeze the oranges.
Stir the cornflour with 3 tablespoons water.
How to make orange curd
Put juice and zest into a saucepan.
Add the water to the juice.
Add the sugar to the juice.
Gently warm the mixture.
Stir then remove the pot from the heat.
Stir in the cornflour paste.
Return the pan to the heat.
Stir continuously until all is mixed in completely and the curd has thickened
Pour the orange curd into a sterelized jar.
Press cling film on top and allow to cool completely.
Allow the curd to set for a few hours, in the refrigerator.
Let the Orange Curd reach room temperature.
Orange Curd tastes delicious on warm toast, biscuits and bakes!
