Today we read a very beautiful book in honour of Saint Martin: Saint Martin and the little bear. Every year on November 11, Saint Martin's Festival is celebrated in the Netherlands. Children go through the streets with lanterns, singing and they are given sweets. Originally it is a very old celebration, but it only recently became more popular in large parts of the Netherlands, in 2020! So funny!
The story is written by German author Antonie Schneider and the book is beautifully illustrated by Maja Dusikova. It's a favorite of the mini monsters this time of year and we love to read it to you. Sharing is just as much a part of it as receiving, is a wise lesson from long ago!
