What do you need?
a large cardboard box
2 empty rolls of kitchen paper
black paint
aluminum foil
a Stanley knife
a thick black felt-tip pen
thick coloured felt-tip pens or
paint (optional: spray cans)
hobby glue

Our little monster from class 4 (group 6) is going to participate in making surprises for the first time this year, at school. Totally fun of course! He already knows what he wants to make, a skateboard made of cardboard. Can you really stand on it, would he like that? But no, that is not recommended.

Maybe you are very good in drawing garaffiti and have you made it a lot already. But if you did not...
We have posted a cool video to teach you how to draw graffiti. We are fans of llSIVEll and we have learned a lot from him! He explains everything clearly and shows you exactly how he does it. Even if you don't understand English you will understand him. There are a lot of his videos online, for beginners and advanced artists, so watch them!

How you make a skateboard, from cardboard

Cut a nice, smooth piece of cardboard from a large box.

Neatly draw the shape of a skateboard on it, using a pencil.

Cut a small corner off the top and bottom of the board.

Use these corners as a template on the opposite side.

To make sure that the 4 corners of the skateboard are exactly the same

Neatly cut out the whole board.

Check if the wheels fit on the board.

Measure if your present fits between the wheels.

Firstly paint the wheels black

Paint the tubes to halway up.

Place in a jar for the paint to dry.

Turn the roll, paint and let dry again.

Set the wheels aside for now.

We have been practicing for a week with the video at the top of this blog and now we are going to draw on the skateboard

Draw a tag or throwie on the skateboard.

Colour your art work with cool colours.

Allow the colours to dry, if you use paint.

Let the paint dry in between during painting so that you don't accidentally smear it with your hand

Cut out 4x the sides of the wheels and stick on your wheels.

Stick your gift between the wheels and your surprise is ready!

Good luck with your surprise and have fun with Sinterklaas on December 5th!
