Snazzie's Minion surprise

the first of 2018
Paper & Cardboard, Cutting & Pasting, Sinterklaas, and Sinterklaas surprise

What do you need?
a wide tube
Yellow and blue cardstock
scissors
glue and rubber bands
2 lids (babyfood)
black foam sheet
1 blue and 1 yellow pipecleaner (thick)

Today we make a Minion out of a tube, ours was filled with hamster sand. The plastic lid we turn to the underside, later on we stick the legs through. Great, recycling and at teh same time making a cute surprise for Sinterklaas!

 

How to make the Minion

Measure the size of the tube.

Cut yellow paper to size.

Stick the paper around the tube.

Cut out a circle, stick it on top.

Allow the glue to dry completely. we use rubber bands for pressure.

Now cut the blue trousers.

Stick the pants around the tube.

Cut the pants pocket.

Stick the pocket with the logo and the buttons on the pants.

Trace the lids with a pencil.

Cut out the eyes.

Paint the rim of the lids silver.

  • Cut then stick the printed eyes on cardstock then on the lids, stick the lids on a strip of black foam
  • Cut a mouth, 3 hairs, hands and feet out of black foam then stick it on the Minion

Stick the pipecleaners into the tube, glue all together.

Your Minion surprise is ready!

You can hide the present easily in your surprise if you remove the lid from the underside. Maybe you should write: Open here > on the back of your surprise then the recipient can keep the surprise intact.
