jar of chickpeas
1/2 lemon
2 garlic cloves
5 grams of cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
50 ml water
50 ml tahini (sesame paste)
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
5 grams of paprika powder
pita bread (Khoubz)
How to make Hummus
Wash the chickpeas until the foam is completely gone.
Drain then weigh 200 grams and keep some aside.
Squeeze the lemon, pour the juice in the blender.
Crush two garlic cloves and add them to the lemon.
Add 3 tablespoons olive oil, water, chickpeas, salt and spices.
Blend it into a creamy paste. Taste and season with additional salt, Tahin and cumin.
Spoon the hummus into a bowl, sprinkle on chickpeas and paprika powder.
Pour the fourth tablespoon extra virgin olive oil along the edge.
Serve the hummus with the pita bread (warmed in the oven +/- 3 min.).
