Shopping list for two persons
1 lime
3 teaspoons caster sugar
1 small free range egg
50 ml whiskey
can of ginger ale
We had a busy day, with clearing up after Christmas, but now the mini-monsters went to bed. Time to relax with a festive, traditional British Snowball. The British call this drink appropiate 'a winter warmer' and therefore in winter it is sold in the pubs (bottled).
There are two variations, the first is half eggnog, half ginger ale with a squeeze of lime. The second is a real boost, with whiskey and a fresh egg, which we make today. The recipe is from Wayne Collins.
Wash and grate the lime skin, then juice it.
Stir the sugar vigorously into the juice.
Place the bowl with the mixture in the fridge for an hour.
Break a fresh egg in the shaker.
Add the wisky to the egg.
A bottle from the mini bar is perfect.
Add a tablespoon of lime mixture.
Fill up it with ice cubes.
Shake until all is combined.
Divide the mixture between 2 glasses.
Fill up the glasses with ginger ale.
Cheers, wishing you a Happy New year!
