Wat do you need to make a kitten?
a pair of socks
hand sewing yarn
fiberfill or cotton wool
fabric marker
embroidry yarn
optional: ribbon and/or a little bell
Making a kitten out of socks isn't difficult at all. The sewing can be done by hand, there are only small pieces to stitch. If you can make the cat you can make many other animals too. Like a dog, a panther, a tiger, a polar bear, a brown bear, just use your imagination.
Flatten the sock, the heel upwards.
Use a textile marker to draw.
Draw the front and hind legs.
Back stitch the marked lines.
Leave a bit open between the hind paws so you can later stuff the body.
Cut the paws out with a broad margin.
Turn the body inside out.
Then it looks like this.
Stuff the body with fiberfill or cotton wool.
If stuffed close the opening.
Cut off the top of sock 2.
Draw ears and back stitch the head.
Cut of the top of the head around the ears, with a margin.
Stuff the head.
Close it off with a running stitch.
Pull the thread tight and tie off.
Don't cut off the thread.
Use it to sew the head on the body.
Cut off the toe piece.
Back stitch it with a margin.
This piece will be the kitten's tail.
Turn it inside out with the help of a stick.
Stuff the tail.
Sew it to the back of the kitten's body.
Embroider a nose, put 5 stitches on top of each other.
Make the kittens eyes the same way.
If you like you can tie a little bell around kittens neck.
