One of the most beautiful classic children's books is Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. Not directly a fairy tale but a story with all its features, sad, exciting, adventurous and in the end all is well again.
The Jungle Book tells the story of Mowgli but also of The White Seal, Rikki Tikki Tavi, Toomai of the Elephants and Her Majesty's Servants are a part of it. Most children's Jungele Book versions are only about Mowgli, in this version all The Jungle Book stories are included and beautifully illustrated by Robert Ingpen.
Unfortunately, most of the books by Robert Ingpen have not been translated into Dutch, but even if you couldn't read a single word of it, you would still tremendously enjoy looking at the stunning drawings in this book. So don't forget to check out his website too!
