7 grams of instant yeast
150 ml warm water, approx. 35 - 40 ° C
250 grams (white bread) flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
½ teaspoon of salt
10 grams of softened butter
Nutella to taste
1 free-range organic egg
25 grams of Tony's chocolate, dark
Today we're making little Nutella tiger buns, a children's favorite. Soft white buns filled with a dollop of Nutella. If you don't like Nutella, you can also fill the buns with jam, custard or chocolate pudding. Stick ears on the buns and paint on tiger faces with melted chocolate. A guaranteed success!
How to make Nutella Tiger Buns
Place the yeast in a bowl and stir in the warm water.
Put it aside until little bubbles appear on top.
Make a well in the flour mixture in the mixer.
Pour the yeast mixture into the well.
Mix all the ingredients together.
Add the butter and mix 15 minutes.
Knead the dough quickly by hand.
Brush oil in a clean bowl.
Put in the dough, cover with cling film.
Allow the dough to double in 1 hour.
Tip the dough from the bowl.
Knock it back until the air is gone.
Divide the dough in 8 even pieces.
Shape them into balls.
Place the balls on baking paper.
Make a clean tea towel wet with warm water then wring it out
Cover the buns with the warm tea towel.
Let the buns rise 10 minutes.
Flatten de buns and cut ears.
Divide the dough in 8 pieces again and shape flat circles.
Spoon the filling in the middle of the circle.
Close the buns and turn them upside down.
Stick the ears firmly on the buns with some water.
Repeat the covering and rising for the last time.
Preheat the oven to 170°C
Brush the buns with beaten egg.
Bake in 15-18 minutes light brown.
Allow to cool on a wire rack.
Meanwhile melt the chocolate.
Draw the faces using a skewer.
