400g of strong bread flour*
7g of instant yeast*
12g of granulated sugar*
6g sea salt*
45 ml of sunflower oil*
250 ml of water*
5 ml of sunflower oil
1 free-range egg yolk
1 tablespoon of water
sesame and poppy seeds to taste
Place a sheet of waxed paper on the baking tray
Stir the yeast with a tablespoon water and wait for the bubbles.
Put all *marked ingredients in the mixer and mix.
Mix until all is combined and turned into a firm dough.
Tip the dough from the bowl, knead quickly with the 5 ml oil.
Shape the dough into a ball then grease a large, clean bowl with some baking spray
Place the dough into the bowl.
Put it in a warm place.
Cover it and let it rise for 1 hour.
Remove the dough from the bowl, knead it quickly by hand then cut it into four roughly even pieces
Weigh the pieces, each should be 170g.
Shape the dough into balls.
Flatten the balls.
Prick a pattern in the dough.
Prick a pattern in the dough using your finger then brush the buns with egg wash
Let the bread rise another 30 minutes in a warm place.
Prick the breads again, brush with egg wash and sprinkle seeds on.
Preheat the oven to 200°C
Slide the baking tray into the middle of the oven.
Bake the breads in 10 - 15 minutes golden brown.
Let the buns cool covered with a tea towel.
To bad that the pattern in the buns after baking has disappeard again
But the buns still look good and don't taste any less!
Eat the buns with Turkish cheese or jam, both are delicious!
