1 can of unsweetened, condensed milk
60g butter
120 ml double cream
45g cocoa + extra to dust
85g dark chocolate
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
red and pink sprinkles
We make caramel truffles, a present for a sweet Valentine. The recipe is easy to do - with kids too -, the truffles taste super delicious and you can store them just fine in the fridge. Thank you Martha Stewart!
How to make the Valentine truffles
Place the condensed milk, cream and butter in a saucepan.
Bring it to the boil, let the butter melt on medium heat.
Keep stirring 5-6 minutes, until it thickens and colours.
Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool 5 minutes.
Stir in the chocolate and vanilla.
Stir in the cocoa too.
Stir the mixture until smooth and glossy.
Pour the mixture into a shallow dish.
Place the dish minimal 4 hours in the fridge.
Roll balls between your hands.
Roll the balls in red or pink.
and in the 2 colours combined.
Or classic, roll them in cocoa.
Place them in paper cases.
