The tomatoes have grown a lot! There are also a lot of tomatoes on our bushes, but unfortunately they don't colour very quickly due to the many rainy days. De many large leaves are not helping too, the sunlight really needs to reach the tomatoes unimpeded.

Like our very expert tomato grower says: we are growing tomatoes, not tomato leaves, so away with them. With a heavy heart this is what we did. All the large leaves are removed. For the first time this week we were able to harvest a bowl of tomatoes and they are beautiful and delicious! The mini-monsters are very proud of them!

Next to the herbs the raspberries grow, which we pruned back almost to the ground, last fall. They have grown back considerably, but not as much as in other years. The harvest is also considerably less, but our hopes are set for next year. Maybe they need some time and we should prune less rigorously this fall!

This year we have mini peppers in the vegetable garden again, green ones this time. Unfortunately we still have snails visiting, they love the soft leaves of the peppers plant! Fortunately for us, so far they leave the small peppers alone, so we'll harvest the first of this year in a little while!

Unfortunately, a diligent gardener cut off the cucumber plant while we were cutting off the tomato leaves :)) The tomato and cucumber plants were not that far apart and if you are cutting enthusiastically, a mistake is easily made. So unfortunately we can't harvest any more mini-cucumbers this year! Better luck next year!
