Today we are claying cute little elephants for Diwali. We make them from Polymer clay and because this is a chemical clay we only use it with the older monsters. The little ones clays with Das and have to be patient for it to dry! We just make funny elephants, with a cookie cutter, in all kinds of colors. When they are baked, we decorate them beautifully, with precious stones!
How to make make Diwali elephants
First download and read the polymere clay instructions, before you use it, it is important tinformation!
Knead the clay until soft.
Roll the clay but not to thin.
Cut out elephants.
Roll a small ball.
Cut in half and flatten one half.
Cut out the behind of the elephant.
Press the ear and blanket on.
You have to bake polymer clay, then it hardens and stays good for a long time. Bake it at max 110 degrees Celsius and no longer than 15 minutes.
Place the elephants on the baking tray.
Preheat the oven to 110°C.
Bake the clay for 15 minutes.
Varnish the elephants.
Let the varnish dry completly then varnish the back as well
Stick a wobbly eye on each elephant and decorate them with gems.
Stick a ribbon through the holes and tie it in a knot.
