From today (5th) up to and including October 16 it is Children's Book Week 2016. The theme is Forever young! This years children's book week is all about Grandpas and Grandmas. If you buy a children's book of at least 10.00 you'll get the booklet Oorlog en Vriendschap (War and friendship) by Dolf Verroen (in Dutch) free in this period. The illustrations are made by Charlotte Dematons, so we look forward to it!
Waar is Ludwig? (Where is Ludwig?) is the Children's Book Week picture book of 2016. This original book was made by Floor Rieder, it's an expandable row of houses book (a leporello) in which there is a lot to see. The book costs € 7.95, a good deal for such a lovely book!
Everywhere in the Netherlands are fun activities which all have to do with stimulating reading. At libraries and bookstores you can pick up the Reading Guide and the Children's Newspaper.
