150 ml milk
150 ml double cream
75g fine caster sugar
1 vanilla pod
3 egg yolks
Place the container of the ice maker in the freezer a day ahead if you use an ice cream maker.
Yesterday we made a delicious French strawberry bavarois, which of course you can eat on it's own. But with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream the bavarois tastes even better and when it takes little effort ... do not forget the yolks from yesterday!
How to make the best tasting vanilla ice cream
Scrape a vanilla pod empty above a pan.
Add the milk and cream, bring it to the boil and let it cool.
Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar creamy.
Whisk a few spoonfuls milk/cream mixture in.
Gradually add the rest of the milk mixture while beating.
If everything is combined you pour the mixture into a clean pan.
Let it thicken on low heat while stirring, until it leaves a spoon coated.
Get the frozen ice maker container from the freezer already.
Let the vanilla mixture cool completely.
Pour it into the container.
Let it churn for 30 minutes.
Then you can immediately eat the ice cream.
