It is Spring Break so the girls come over to bake some cookies. Tomorrow they go to the swimming pool so they are in need of cookies, preferably a lot of them, for tonight at home and to take with them tomorrow. Simple vanilla cookies they like best and what is really good about it, they make them all by themselves! Here follows the big recipe we used.
How to make vanilla biscuits
Stir the sifted flour and baking powder together, set aside.
Mix butter and sugar on medium speed fluffy.
Add the vanilla flavour.
Add the egg and mix for another minute.
Knead the flour in three parts into the butter mix.
Roll the dough into a ball and wrap it in cling film.
Preheat the oven to 170°C and roll out the dough to 1/2 - 1 cm
Cut out cookie shapes with cute cutters, these are from Taiwan.
Place the cookies on a baking tray covered with baking parchment.
Place the cut outs back in the fridge for minimal 10 minutes.
Bake in 8 - 12 minutes golden brown.
These pretty forest animals cookie cutters are bought at Ikea's.
The cookies turned out so beautiful!
Eefje doesn't do dough but she likes to cut her own cookies.
She puts the cut out shapes on the baking tray, without help.
To prevent confusion of who made the cookies Eefje bakes her name.
Eefjes biscuits turned out really well too! :)
Next time the girls show you how to decorate the cookies with coloured icing (their favourite decoration), see you than!
