What do you need?
1 sheet of photo cardboard, black
pencil and ruler
a box cutter scissors
coloured tissue paper
hobby glue
double-sided adhesive tape
There are adhesive stickers for sale with Old Dutch houses or Amsterdam canal houses for Sinterklaas. Very nice, but they are expensive and we also like to craft fun things for 0r with the mini-monsters ourselves. So we get to work with photo cardboard and double-sided tape. It's going to be super cute!
How you make the Sinterklaas houses yourself
Draw a pencil line to divide the photo cardstock in two halves.
Cut the photo cardstock in two halves with the Stanley knife.
Divide the cardstock into elongated compartments.
Draw different types of roofs on them.
Cut out the roofs.
Draw doors and windows on the houses.
Cut or carve them out.
Stick pieces of coloured paper behind the windows.
Stick the row of houses on the window using double-sided tape.
We also make a second row of houses, which you can fold like an harmonica and put on display.
