What do you need?
folding sheets 16x16 and 16.5x16.5 cm
braid strips, various widths
scissors
a glue stick
a pencil
shapes, to trace
drawing paper
coloured pencils, markers or crayons
stickers
We make a nice surprise for mom, in a surprise box! Ssssttt! It's a secret! We fold and glue boxes, from folding sheets. Then we fold mouse steps with strips of coloured paper. If you push the steps into the box and then put the lid on your box, the surprise will pop out when you take the lid off. Surprise!!!
You can decide for yourself what you want to stick on the mouse steps for mom and on the boxes. The monsters have all made their own ideas for their own Mum's. So smart! So funny, they all turned out differently!
How to make Surprise Boxes
A larger sheet for the lid, the smaller one is for the box
Place the smallest sheet flat in front of you.
Fold the sheet double from the underside up.
Turn vertical and fold left and right to the middle line.
Fold the sheet in half again, then top and bottom to the middel line again.
Make a cut in all the four corner spaces in your folding sheet.
Glue the corners to the moddle of your box.
Try to glue the corners together neatly
Then make the lids in exactly the same way
While the glue is drying make the mouse steps
Take two of the same strips (different colours are okay) and glue them together.
Stick the strips together like you see in the picture above.
Fold the strips over each other, from left to right and from top to bottom.
And vice versa until the sprips are totally folded up.
Cut off the sticking out bits and glue the ends together.
Fold another step and stick them together.
Glue the mouse steps into the boxes.
Draw or cut a shape to stick on the mous steps.
Fold mouse steps in other fun colours as well.
You can stick flowers together, draw butterflies or cut out hearts.
Stick the figuren on top of the mouse steps.
.Make cute little boxes from quarterd sheets.
In which tiny, little mouse steps will fit.
Decorate the lid of the box in your own manner.
The little monsters decorate the boxes with stickers and drawings.
