What do you need?
Half a meter thick green felt (market)
Half a meter yellow felt
a needle
yellow and green yarn
a piece of fiberfill
small gifts
candy
Download our template first, print it and cut out the parts. We start with the flower chalice of the Narcissus.
Fold a piece of felt double and cut off 38x22 cm.
Lay on the strip of yellow felt a 4cm narrower strip fiberfill.
Fold the felt on both sides lenghtwise 2 cm in and pin it.
Pin all the pattern parts on felt, then you have all at hand.
Trace the 6 flower leafs and cut them out.
Cut out the leafs six times as well from extra thick green felt.
Finally cut out carrier band and bottom, use thick felt too.
Now we sew! Stitch the lenght with a blanket stitch (picture).
Slide the top ends neatly over each other.
Pin the width and stitch the sides together.
The sewed side is the top end of the chalice.
Thread a line of yarn through the underside and pull it.
Pin the petals with overlap on the underside of the chalice, stitch on.
Pin and sew the green leafs on, let them stick out in between the yellow.
Sew the carrier strip onto the purse as in the picture.
Sew some extra sturdy stitches on the sides of the strip as well.
Pin the bottom to the underside of the flower and stitch it.
The underside of your Easter purse should look like this.
Cut a slightly larger circle from yellow, press it into the chalice.
Now you can use the purse at the egg hunt, on Easter Day.
Make the purse into an Easter present!
Fill the purse with little Easter keepsakes and it will be a lovely Easter present. It may be little books about hares or a toy bunny like Hannie.
Make a cone from transparant foil and fill it with orange jelly babies. Tie a green ribbon on and you made a candy carrot.
Happy Easter!
