1/2 liter whipped cream
4 tablespoons caster sugar
fresh fruit to taste
coloured sugar mice
rolled fondant
dinosaur cookie cutters
Now we make a real birthday cake from the two cakes we baked this morning. We put everything in and on it that our birthday boy likes best. That is whipped cream, strawberries, fondant dinos :)) and sugar mice. So all nice and sweet, but that is also allowed because our birthday boy Job is also a very sweet monster!
How you may decorate the birthday cake
First we cut out Dinosaurs for our Dinosour fan
Roll out coloured fondant, not too thinly.
Cut out baby dinosaurs.
Also cut out some parents.
Set the Dinosaurs aside for now.
Let them harden a little at room temperature
Beat the double cream with the sugar.
Spread a thick layer of cream on the first cake.
Place thick slices strawberries on the cream.
Spread another layer of whipped cream, but over the strawberries
Stick cake two on top.
Spread cream around the cake.
Spread cream over de top.
Place the cake in the refrigerator.
Allow the whipped cream to stiffen for 30 minutes and spread another layer of cream around the cake
Tip!!
To get the mice neatly all around the cake, scoop some mice in your hand and pat them onto the cream with and outstretched hand palm
Pat the cake gently with the sugar mice.
Place the cake in the fridge again.
Fill a piping bag with whipped cream.
Pipe rosettes of whipped cream all around the cake, they will support the Dino mother as well :))
Stick the remaining dinosaurs all around the cake with some cream.
Place the candles on the cake and light them at the right time.
Happy birthday!
