180g whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon milk powder
160g unbleached wheat flour
60g rolled oats
½ teaspoon baking powder
1½ tablespoons of vegetable oil
60g steamed pumpkin
100ml water
It is almost Animal Day and we want to bake dog biscuits with pumpkin, for our sweet neighbor dog Ted. Unfortunately we no longer have a dog, only Hammie, our dwarf hamster. We do our best for Ted, because he is such a good dog who guards our entire street!

Please mind! The cookies have to dry out overnight, so bake them at least one day in advance.

How to make pumpkin dog biscuits

We start with the pumpkin

Cut the pumpkin open and scrape out the seeds.

Peel the pumpkin then chop it into cubes.

Steam the pumpkin on a pan with boiling water.

Remove the basket from the heat when the pumpkin is soft.

How to make the dough

Place the whole meal flour in the mixer.

Add the milk powder.

Then add flour, baking powder and oats.

Add the oil as well.

Finally add the water.

Mix until well combined.

Knead the dough by hand.

Knead the dough more or less smooth and roll it out thick

Preheat the oven to 120°C

Cut out the biscuits.

Place the biscuits on baking paper.

Bake the biscuits 50 - 60 minutes

Do watch the biscuits closely, they can brown fairly quick, especially in the last 10 minutes.

Turn off the oven when the biscuits are ready and allow the biscuits to stay in the oven until the next morning.

Happy Halloween Ted!
