75g soft butter
75g caster sugar
½ free range organic egg (room temp')
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
125 grams of Zeeuwse flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
various colours of fondant icing
Today we bake biscuits because tomorrow the Good Saint Nicolas and the Pieten will arrive in Rotterdam! When we are back home we would like a treat, Hot chocolate and Sinterklaas biscuits, that's exactly what we need!
How to make Sinterklaas biscuits
Download the recipe and make the dough, place the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes
Preheat the oven to 170°C and place a sheet of baking paper on the baking tray
Knead the dough briefly.
Rol it to 1 cm thickness.
Cut out letters.
Place the biscuits on the tray.
Bake the biscuits for +/- 15 minutes.
Let cool on the tray for 15 minutes.
Let cool completely on a wire rack.
Start already with cutting out the fondant
Roll the fondant thinly.
Cut out the letters.
Stick on with a drop of water.
Cut candy out of left over dough.
Bake the candies for 12 minutes.
Let the biscuits cool on a wire rack.
Meanwhile cut out fondant icing in verious colours.
Stick the fondant icing on the biscuits with drops of water.
The biscuits are ready, Sint and the Pieten are welcome!
