Shopping List for 12 small biscuits
75g butter (room temperature)
75g fine sugar
½ free range egg (room temperature)
½ teaspoon vanilla essence
125g plain flour + ½ a teaspoon baking powder
icing sugar, to dust
various colours icing fondant
a tube of white ready made icing (Dr Oetker)
various sprinkles
edible glitter
With the summer still in our mind, we make these lovely deep-in-the-sea biscuits. For this we use the 3D printed cookie cutters from Jillbeesz. Last year we already made cute autumn biscuits with Jill's cutters.These biscuits are not just very tasty, they are also super cute!
How to make Sea Creatures
Download the recipe and make the dough as described.
Roll the dough between 2 slats to 1 cm thickness.
Dust your workspace with flour then cut out the figures.
Place the biscuits on baking paper on a tray.
Allow the biscuits to rest in the fridge for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 175°C
Bake the biscuits in 8 - 10 minutes light brown.
Allow the biscuits to cool completely on a wire rack.
Meanwhile we roll out the icing thinly.
But first sprinkle your worksurface with a thin layer of icing sugar.
Cut the shapes out of various colours of fondant.
Roll tiny balls for eyes, flatten them.
Give the sea horses bellies of a different colour.
Decorate the shells with icing and sprinkles.
Finally dust the biscuits with some silver glitter.
