We're going to Archeon, there is a Knight Battle! Knight Lodewijk (our hero) fights with the cheeky knight Floris, so that's going to be something to see! It all starts quietly, a lot of people have come to watch the Knight's Games. Like ring fetching on horseback, for example, very funny.
Knight Lodewijk rides on a beautiful white horse. The mini-monsters can get a good look at it up close, we're right at the front. But what is that? Knight Floris enters the field and he drives around as if the whole field is his, a bit cheeky.
Knight Floris's horse is also very beautiful, it is black and it has feathers on its head. Just like knight Floris himself has feathers on his helmet. But look, the ring fetching is about to begin!
Knight Floris is a sore loser, he rides around with a drawn sword! He makes threatening gestures to knight Lodewijk. Knigt Lodewijk going goes to put on his helmet, so that's going to be exciting!
And sure enough, there you have it, with a lot of clattering of weapons a fight starts. But Ridder Lodewijk won't be driven off the field! Knight Floris slumps off and Knight Lodewijk takes his helmet off and drives to the fence. There the children can pet his horse, it has done its very best! Hooray for Knight Lodewijk!
This fight with the knights was only today, on Ascension Day. But in the summer holiday there are many different, super fun activities for the kids and the Romans will visit too. Take a look at the website to see what can be done when, and also for reservations and entrance fees.
Today we had another super fun day in Archeon. The mini-monsters could see everything really well, the beautiful horses were a big attraction. The bravest mini-monsters could have their picture taken with knights on the loose, in real knight's clothing, a great success!
