Today is an exciting day for the mini-monsters because we are going to the Observatory Mercury in Dordrecht. We have reserved tickets for the afternoon. Tonight there is a cool theme evening but the youngest monsters can't stay awake until 23:00 yet. It will just have to wait until they are a bit older. They are already excited that we are going to see through the giant telescope during the day, so everyone is happy.
First pay an entrance fee and then we go inside! There are the most beautiful things to see up close and beautiful pictures here. We learn about the international space programs and they have a model of the International Space Station (ISS) here. We get interesting information about the universe, for our universe fans also facts they didn't know yet ;))
At the very top of the building you find the most beautiful possession of the Observatory: the Carl Zeiss telescope! The roof slides open and then you can look through the giant telescope, you can even look at the sun. (Donald Trump would have benefited from such a telescope! It is known that he liked to look at the sun ;)) Our mini-monsters do it without danger to their eyes, they get a lot of information from the gentlemen of the Mercury Observatory. We keep the receipt, it is too cute!
It was a great afternoon! Everyone had a wonderful time and learned a lot, we will definitely come back here.
