125g Zeeland's flour + extra
75g soft butter
75g caster sugar
½ free-range organic egg (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
icing sugar, for your workplace
coloured fondant icing
apple cookie cutter
Today school started again so we are baking cookies for the little monsters and the teacher. This time we bake apples, with our trusted recipe, which the little monsters, their classmates and the teacher also love. Quickly baked and delicious, what more could you want?
How to bake vanilla biscuits
Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
Beat the egg.
Beat in half the egg.
Add the vanilla and beat it in.
Remove the bowl from the mixer.
Sift in flour and baking powder.
Fold it in and knead it briefly.
Wrap the dough in cling film.
Place the dough 1 hour in the fridge.
Knead the dough briefly.
Roll it into 1cm thickness.
Preheat the oven to 175°C and place waxed paper on the baking tray
Cut apples out of the dough.
Place the apples 30 mins in the fridge.
Bake for 8-10 minutes in the oven.
Leave the biscuits on the tray for a few minutes.
Move the biscuits and let them cool completely.
Roll the fondant thinly, cut out appels with the cookie cutter.
Cut out leaves and stick on both with some water.
Get the biscuits ready for the little monsters.
And wrap some biscuits nicely, for their teacher.
