Today we complete our Sinterklaas gift for a young farmer. We make a muddy pig pen for the pigs to play in; hay bales to put in the stable or on the tractor and a bench for the farmer to look over the barnyard satisfied, after all his hard work ;)
Do not think that the barn is now definitely ready because we would really like to make a chicken coop too and a vegetable garden and a farmer's wife to lend a hand would also be nice for the farmer. Maybe under the Christmas tree ...
How to make the pig pen
Saw a 15 x 15 square of triplex, then sand it.
Measure 2 slats of 15 cm and 2 of 17 cm, saw them off.
Saw off 4 pieces of 2.5 cm from the 9 x 9 beam.
Now the muddy puddle for the pigs is complete.
Paint the triplex evenly dark brown, let it dry then make thick ridges with paint.
Varnish the fence and the corner beams pine colour, allow it to dry thoroughly.
Glue the corner beams to the bottom, allow them to dry with clamps.
Glue the fence on the corners, allow the glue to dry well.
The pig and her piglets enjoy their muddy puddle!
How to make a bench
Saw off the 10 mm slat 2 pieces of 5.5 cm and 1 of 9.5 cm.
Saw from the 9x9 mm beam 2 pieces of 2 cm.
Saw 1 piece of 9.5 cm from the mm slat.
Paint all the pieces of the bench all around dark green.
Glue the back and the seat of the bench on the hind legs.
Stick the front legs on the bench, allow the glue to dry well.
How to make the hey bales
Saw 8 pieces of 4.5 x 2.5 x 2 cm from the slat.
Sand the wood pieces neatly smooth.
Mix yellow ochre with bright yellow paint.
Paint the hay bales first smooth then coarse.
Tie strings around the hey bales.
Ready just in time! Now it's almost time, Happy Presents Evening (Pakjesavond)!
