Dolly is very happy with her new bed but a cozy warm duvet to go with it would be lovely. That is what we do today! The given measurements are based on the Ikea Knarra basket of 20x30cm.
How to make a duvet and pillow
The duvet should be 30x4, the fabric must be 60x80cm.
Measure your mattrass precisely, otherwise maybe your duvet won't fit.
Measure the fabric and place pins to mark the exact size,
Give cuts in the fabric where you placed the pins.
Tear the fabric on the cuts you made in it.
Fold the fabric in half and stitch both long sides closed.
Zig zag the edges of both the seams you made.
One short side is already closed, because we folded it. The other short side, the underside we leave open to fill.
Turn the inside of the duvet out.
Stretch the fiberfill and fluff it up.
Fill the duvet, stuff into the corners.
Fold the open edges inwards.
Pin them neatly together.
Stitch the underside closed.
Divide 5 pins over the duvet.
Place 3 stitches on each other, stitch through the duvet.
Make quickly a pillow of 20x15cm in the same way.
Next time we choose a pretty fabric and we will make nice linens for your dolly.
