The mini monsters love Chris Haughton's Picture Book Don't worry, Little Crab. That's why we're making the little crab today, it is super cute! The pattern is not really difficult, but maybe a bit too complicated for starting young seamstresses. Next week we will make a cow nose sting ray, also cute and with a very easy pattern.
How to make Little Crab
Print the PDF pattern and cut everything out
Pin the parts on the indicated colours of the felt.
Cut out all the loose parts.
Start with the front, put the red back aside for now.
This is what Little Crab should look, but first you sew!
Pin chest, belly and legs together.
Tie firmly on, bottom right.
Sew through and through in blanket stitch.
Sew the sides and bottom of pink, the top is not necessary.
Tie off firmly and put a black thread in your needle.
Sew the pupil to the eye and the eye to the body.
Stitch through to the other eye and sew it on as well.
Sew the purple scissors to the chest.
Sew on the red back.
Leave one side open for filling.
Sew the fill opening closed.
Your Little Crab is ready!
Next week we will make a cow nose ray!
