1 mango (125g clean cubes)
125 ml condensed milk
a pinch of cardamom
grated coconut. to dust
After we have read (out loud) the fun story of Ganesha's Sweet Tooth, the mini-monsters want to taste the Laddoo - which he likes so much - too. The recipe is simple and actually ready in no time. Cooling takes the longest, after stirring for 10-15 minutes. Then follows rolling the mixture into sticky balls and coating the balls in grated coconut. That is a fun job for the monsters and then they can taste. Hmmm, yummie!
How to make Mango Laddoo
Peel and cut the mango into cubes.
Blend the mango into puree.
Put the mango on medium heat.
Add the kardemom to the milk.
Add the milk to the mango puree.
Stir it to combine,
Keep stirring for 10 - 15 minutes.
As the mango mixture thickens and becomes sticky, continue to stir vigorously to prevent burning until the mixture separates from the pan
Allow the mango mixture to cool.
Roll into balls between your hands.
Dust the balls with grated coconut.
The mango laddoo is ready.
Find a pretty bowl to serve the Laddoo balls in, decorate the tray with colour and place candles on the tray.
Happy Diwali!
