September has begun and the strawberries are still trying. They are not very tasty anymore, now the season is really over. The raspberries are doing a lot better, every week we pick a bowl full of raspberries from the bush. They are just a little later than last year.

The bumblebees are also very happy with the raspberries, they fly back and forth all day long! That's a real bonus to us! The tomatoes are performing much better than expected. Also in september we are harvesting lots of cherry and Roma tomatoes. So good, because both taste really good and we use them in and with all kinds of dishes.

We have plenty for the time being because there are still hanging many green tomatoes on the plants. And the little monsters can still pick the red tomatoes every day.

Finally the mini peppers! They snails and slugs cannot get enough of our peppers, if indeed they are the scoundrels who demolish our peppers. We are not entirely sure but we do see some silvery trails on the leaves and lots of holes but we never see the culprits! Maybe they strike in the dark ;))

But September brings us other beautiful things too! Even though they are not edible for us, the birds love them. We don't mind that because we really enjoy all those bird visits. We see many great tits and finches, but also magpies and starlings. Fun to hear all their chatter! Autumn is coming!

Wishing you in advance a happy autumn!
