Today we are making a Chinese New Year's greeting card from cardstock and paper. On the photos you can see how you can make beautiful paper flowers, but you can also download our work description and trace the figures. On it you will also find the Chinese characters to write Happy New Year in Chinese. Who do you send your card to?

How you make a card for the Year of the Mouse

First fold the card from cardstock

Measure the middle of an A4 then mark it.

Make a crease with closed scissors.

Fold the card in half on the crease.

Put the card aside and make the flower

Fold a paper square in four.

Fold the square diagonal in half.

Cut off the open side of the triangle so it is round.

Make 3 sizes, cut the smallest flower in toward the middle.

Put the flowers aside for now and make the mouse

Trace the head, body, paws, ears and tail on grey cardstock.

Neatly cut out all the parts of the mouse.

Cut out two pink circles to stick inside the ears.

Stick the flower parts and the mouse parts on the card.

Cut out an eye, cheek, nose and whiskers of cardstock.

Decorate the petals with the faux gem, glitter and the gold marker.

Write your New Year's wish on the card, also in gold.

Ask one of your parents for an A5 envelope and a stamp because your card is ready to be posted!
