Drying wild flowers is a fun summer job to do with the kids. We spend a lot of time outside, where the kids search for the most beautiful wild flowers and then they pick enthusiastically. At home we put the flowers in a vase and we will dry some flowers. Then we make fun crafts with them.
How to dry wild flowers
Unfold the cardboard then place kitchen paper on it.
Spread the flowers on the paper en press them gently open.
Carefully try to make the flowers 'look' upward.
Cover the flowers with a few layers of kitchen paper.
Fold the cardboard tightly over the kitchen paper then press it very firmly.
Weigh the cardboard down with stacks of books then put it aside for 2 - 3 weeks.
Remove the books from the cardboard and look what a surprise!
The flowers have dried beautiful, now you can keep them well. Next time we will make beautiful lanterns with the flowers and later on also handy cards, to learn from.
