Winter Animals by Bibi Dumon Tak is a wonderful book to read and look at the pictures book of the animals. It is an educational book that reads like a train. It gives so much insight into the harsh conditions in which the winter animals live, wonderful to read and see.
Because even though you know that it is very cold and life is hard where these animals live, you don't really think about it. Until you read this book, then it sinks in you feel for them. All information is told understandable but not childish, straight but with humor. Just as we and the little monsters like it!
The illustrations in Winterdieren are made by Martijn van der Linden. His beautiful atmosferic drawings in the icy blue colours contribute a lot to the pleasure of reading the book. You can feel the cold just by looking at it!
This is a book children will enjoy for a very long time, while it's a pleasure for adults to read it to them. Bibi Dumon-Tak won a well deserved Golden Stylus for this book, in 2012 and we got a cool autograph in our book from her!
