How to make a sheep (and a lamb)
Start with the legs, per two
Roll a strand of wool between your palms.
Wind the wool around the pipe cleaner.
Prick straight, into the pipe cleaner.
De legs become thinner through pricking.
Bend the fore legs round.
Make the hind legs in the same way.
Take a strand of wool for the body.
Roll the wool firmly, then prick.
Place the legs on the body.
Place a bit of wool on top.
Prick it around the legs.
Prick until the legs are firmly attached.
The legs should carry the body easily.
Now roll the sheep's head.
Prick the head in the right shape.
Roll a neck of wool and attach it.
Prick the head to the neck.
Shape ears from a wisp of wool.
Prik the ears into long ovals.
Prick some pink wool inside the ears.
Prick the ears double.
Attach the ears with the fluffy ends of wool.
Roll eyes of black wool and prick them on firmly.
Prick a coat on your sheep with curly wool.
Spread a layer of wool on the sheep.
Prick the wool around firmly but save the curls.
Make a tail, in the same way as the ears were made.
Attach the tail to the sheep pricking the loose wool.
Take a strand of grey.
Wrap it around a leg.
Prick until the hoof is firm.
Make all 4 hooves in the same way.
The face of the sheep is the hardest to do, you want it's face to look friendly...let's try our best
The mouth is not that hard to do, we do it first.
Make a V shape for the nose, with space in between.
Then prick a line from nose to mouth, in the middle.
Neatly cut off excess wool and prick firmly but do not let the nose and mouth dissapear into the face
This is how the face finally looks.
Only prick a tiny dot of pink on the nose.
Your sheep is now ready, it just needs a haircut. Use sharp scissors to neatly trim the wool that is too fluffy. We don't cut much, we do like our sheep fluffy!
Still not tired of needle felting? Then you can make a lamb in the same way, but less than half the size, we do that too. Have fun needle felting!
