Today an extensive craft with a sea theme. Make one of these cute sea creatures from felt or make them all. Hang them on a mobile, on your school bag or wear them as a brooch or hairpin. That's all possible, isn't that funny!
How to make our multi purpose sea creatures
We already drawn a pattern for you, all you have to do is print the PDF
Cut out the patterns.
Pin them on felt.
Cut out the figures.
And repeat it.
Now you have a front and back of all the four creatures
Pin front and back together.
Sew the parts together with a basting stitch.
Now all figures are sewn together
But there are six creatures instead of four? Yes! Our youngest mini-monster wanted to draw his own pattern, maybe you'd like that too :))
Here you can see step by step how it goes, we have only made these patterns a little bigger, otherwise sewing is too difficult
The patterns are drawn and cut out.
Pin the patterns on felt.
Cut them both out.
Cut them out again.
Pin the two parts of each animal neatly on top of each other then stick a thread in the needle
Tie a knot at the bottom.
Stick your needle upward in between the parts.
Sew small basting stitches.
Leave the bottom side open
Fill up with sheeps wool.
Close the bottom.
Decorate your seahorse with gold thread.
Make the fish in the same way.
The way these two animals are made, you make the other sea creatures too, in exactly the same way.
We only decorate them differently. You can also do that with what you have, beads, sequins, coloured yarn or whatever you like.
You can also choose the felt colours to your own taste.
Decorate the shell with different colours of basting.
Decorate the mermaid with sequins.
Decorate the starfish with tiny beads.
Decorate the oyster with gold yarn and a 'pearl'.
With the hole puncher we punch out faces.
Glue the faces on the sea creatures.
Make for instance a hair clip of the star.
The mermaid and the sea shell are key rings.
But change as you like it, you can also hang beads and charms on the key chain.
