Shopping list
1 kg floury potatoes
150 ml semi-skimmed milk
25g unsalted butter
sea salt, to taste
freshly ground pepper, to taste
grated nutmeg, to taste
When we make stewed cod with carrots, we often eat mashed potatoes with it. Another one of grandma's specialties! A menu that you immediately smelled when you came in, after playing outside in spring, delicious! Now the little monsters also like to eat it, although we also have one who thinks that fish should swim and not be eaten! :)
How to make mashed potatoes
Peel and wash the potatoes.
Cut them in equal pieces.
Put them half under water.
Add some salt.
Place the lid on the pan.
Bring the potatoes to a boil.
Boil until cooked in +/- 20 minutes.
Drain the potatoes, toss them around and let them steam dry on a low heat for half a minute
Meanwhile bring the milk with the butter to a boil, but not actually boiling!
Season the mashed potato to taste, with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
