2 colours of felt, for the body
small piece of white and black felt
stuffing
pins
a pair of scissors
matching thread & needle
hobby glue
We make a little Cownose Ray from felt, the mini monsters have a fascination for this beautiful animal. Because we live close to Blijdorp Zoo, we regularly visit the rays there. Our little ray is not very realistic, but the mini monsters think it's very cute.
This is how you make a small Cownose Ray from felt
Print the pattern and cut it out
Pin the pattern on the felt.
Our Ray has also 2 colours.
Cut out the belly and back.
Cut various dots from felt.
Put a thread in the needle, tie on with three stitches on top of each other and sew the stingray closed with the blanket stitch
Insert the needle, tighten the thread and pass the needle through the loop.
Leave a piece open for stuffing and let the needle and thread hang on.
Stuff your stingray with sheep's wool and sew up the stuffing hole.
Tie off with three stitches on top of each other, stick the thread through the stingray and cut it off
Stick the dots and the eyes on the Cownose Ray.
Stick a piece of pipe cleaner in the tail of the cownose-ray.
