What do you need?
a sheet dark green cardboard
holly leaves (real or cardboard)
a pencil
pair of scissors
hobby glue
red beads or felt balls
3 white Christmas tree candles
3 candle holders
We make a Lucia crown from cardboard, after discussion with our monsters. The candles are real and they can be lighted, but whether they actually will be remains to be seen. It is a possibility, but an adult must be on standby at all time and pay close attention!
How to make a Lucia crown
Download our holly leaf if you like, print it and cut it out
Trace the pattern.
Cut out the leaves.
Cut them in 2 tones of green.
Draw green veins on the leaves.
- Measure the size of your Lucia's head
- Cut a strip of cardstock, lenghtwise app. 10 cm longer than the size of Lucia's head and 4-5 cm wide
Stick the leaves on the green cardboard strip.
Glue the strip into a circle, let the glue dry.
Stick the red 'berries' on the crown.
Use candle holders inside the crown and if you light the candles: pay close attention and do not let the candles burn to close to the end!
Foldcardboard strips around the holder, glue them into the wreath.
Place the candles in the crown and light them or use felt flames.
Make sure the cardboard strips are firmly attached!
Use real glue and let it dry completely or secure the strips with staples, to keep it extra safe
