500g streaked beef
sea salt and freshly ground pepper
2 large onions
2 laurel leaves
vinegar
soft dark brown sugar
Today we make hachee, very tasty on a cold winter's day! It's not a lot of work but you need to have the time for it. To get the meat really tasty, it must be gently stewed for at least 3 hours. Tomorrow we will make red cabbage with apples and boiled potatoes, to complete the meal.
How to make a delicious old-fashioned beef stew
Chop the onions coarsely.
Heat the butter until browning.
Sear the beef.
Add sea salt and pepper.
Brown the beef quickly all over and reduce the heat to low
Add the onions to the meat.
Fry the onions until they colour.
Fold in the brown sugar and vinegar.
If the beef on touching it falls apart it is perfect!
