For the cake
100g softened butter
100g caster sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 free-range organic eggs
100g self-raising flour
For the buttercream
75g soft butter
150g icing sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
For decoration
200g chocolate, melted
coloured rolled fondant & sprinkles
Today the fun work starts, the monsters are happy to help! We knead and roll balls, which must first stiffen in the refrigerator. Then we cut out fondant and let it harden a little bit, that's fun!
Finally, we melt the chocolate, dip in the pops and let the chocolate dry. For the impatient: in the refrigerator. We add sprinkles to half of the cake pops, otherwise it will take too long. ;)
This is how you make turkeys from your Cake Pops
Croarsly crumble the cake.
Fetch the soft butter cream.
Add the butter to the cake.
Mix it together.
Knead the mixture briefly.
Roll small balls between your hands.
Let harden in the fridge for 1 hour.
When the hour has gone melt a small piece of chocolate
Dip the lollie pop sticks into the melted chocolate.
Push the stick into the balls and let the chocolate harden.
Melt the rest of the chocolate au bain marie.
Dip the cake pops into the chocolate and tap them off.
Place the cake pops in a cup.
Scatter sprinkles over the wet chocolate.
Press turkey faces in the wet chocolate.
Stick a 3 colour tail on the turkey, let it dry flat.
Fill glasses with rice and stick in the cake pops.
Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving 2016!
