What do you need?
coloured strips of paper

glue stick
piece of white paper
felt tip pen
Today we are not going to fold, but we are going to braid, we are making Japanese fish. No Origami this time but Kirigami, which means that you not only fold but also cut and possibly paste. Now that we know that, let's concentrate on the braiding. It's not difficult, but you have to pay close attention! ;))
How to braid Japanese Fish
Fold 6 strips of coloured paper in 2 colours in half.
Slide yellow between the graan.
Slide yellow under the bottom yellow strip and in between.
Now you see the first cubes, alternating in 2 colours.
Yellow strip 3 goes in the same way as strip 1.
Slide the strips toward each other.
Green 2 goes over and under yellow 1.
Then green 2 goes double under yellow 2.
Green 2 now goes over and under yellow 3.
Green 3 goes under and over yellow 2.
Then green double over yellow and finally up and under 3.
Slide the strips carefully toward each other, so they close neatly together
Turn your braiding until it lies diagonally before you.
Fold the top yellow strip over and cut it off.
Slide the remaining yellow strip under the other two.
Cut off what sticks out, on the edge of the fish.
Do exactly the same with green on the other side
Now you see the fish appear already.
Stick on both the green strips.
Flip over and stick on yellow.
Cut the two tail fins.
Finally cut the two side fins.
Cut, glue and draw an eye.
Now our fish is ready and it actually went really quickly!
The mini-monsters want to try making one too, each makes one.
Now we let the fish swim all together, in the deep blue sea ...
Have fun with your fish!
